Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement Impala

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .

Seat Back Cushion Cover

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the j-channel from the seat back frame.
  2. Remove the 2 lower push pin retainers that secures the cover to the frame.
  3. Remove the pad and cover as an assembly.

Seat Back Cushion Pad

Procedure

  1. Remove the cover from the pad by pulling apart to release the hook and loop fasteners.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system if working on the passenger seat. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  3. Remove the front seat back cushion finish panel. Refer to Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the front seat head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  6. Remove the front seat head restraint guides. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .

Cover, Seat Back Cushion

Tip

  1. Disconnect the j-channel from the seat back frame and remove the pad and cover as an assembly.
  2. The pad is secured to the cover with hook and loop fasteners.

Element, Front Seat Back Heater

Tip
If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector and peel the heater element off the pad.
