Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 459529  Size: SH
  1. Open and support the rear door.
  2. Remove the rear door rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  3. Remove the bolt from the upper hinge keeper strap.
  4. Important: Do not dislodge the washer on the lower hinge.

  5. Remove the bolts from the lower door hinges side.
  6. Remove the rear door from the upper hinge, with an assistant.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear door with an assistant.
  2. Lower the rear door on to the upper door hinge body side strap.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lower door hinge side bolts with an assistant.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the lower door hinge side bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  5. Install the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the upper door hinge keeper strap bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Remove the support from the rear door.
  8. Install the rear door rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  9. Inspect the rear door for proper operation and alignment. Refer to Rear Door Adjustment .
