Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Insert a CD magazine, with at least 1 audio CD, into the remote CD changer.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Turn ON the radio.
  5. Attempt to play the CD in the remote CD changer.

Does the remote CD changer operate?

  1. Disconnect the remote CD changer.
  2. Test the battery positive voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the common audio input circuit for a short, high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the remote CD changer and radio.
