Some comments have been received of difficulties unlocking the door using the key.
This may be caused by the lock rod catching on the door inner panel at the bottom edge of the lock rod access hole.
If this condition is encountered, the following repair procedure is recommended:
1. Remove the inner door trim pad per the Fisher Body Service Manual, Section 5.
2. Using a suitable tool, swage the lower edge of the lock rod hole at the area indicated in the illustration.
3. Re-position the inner trim pad and cycle the door lock, three or four times, to ensure free movement.
4. Complete the installation of the door trim pad.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
