- Install the extension
rod onto the extension rod mounting stud.
Use the 2 washers and the extension rod retaining nut (2) in
order to secure the extension rod.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the extension
rod to the guide plate of the gearshift control lever .
Use the 4 guide plate bolts of the gearshift control lever (2)
in order to secure the extension rod.
Tighten
• | Tighten the guide plate bolts of the gearshift control
lever (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in). |
• | Tighten the extension rod retaining nut to 40 N·m
(29 lb ft). |
- Install the gearshift control shaft joint to the gearshift
control shaft (3).
Use the gearshift control shaft front through-bolt and the nut (4)
in order to secure the gearshift control shaft joint.
Tighten
Tighten the front through-bolt of the gearshift control shaft and the
nut (4) to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the gearshift
control shaft (3) to the transaxle gearshift shaft (5).
Use the gearshift control joint through-bolt and the nut (6)
in order to secure the gearshift control shaft.
- Install the gearshift control shaft (3) to the gearshift
control lever.
Use the gearshift control shaft rear through-bolt and the nut.
Tighten
• | Tighten the gearshift control joint through-bolt and the nut (6)
to 20 N·m (15 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the front through-bolt of the gearshift control shaft
and the nut (4) to 20 N·m (15 lb ft). |
