Was the Exterior Lights System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

Disconnect the stoplamp switch connector.

Do the stoplamps turn off?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the stoplamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

--

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Disconnect connector C1 of the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

Do the stoplamps turn off?

Go to Antilock Brake System for diagnosis of the EBCM.

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to voltage in the GRN/WHT wire between the following components:

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
