Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 173094 Size: MH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .
  2. Disconnect the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (4) and the electrical connector (1).
  3. Disconnect the pigtail from the pigtail clips.
  4. Remove the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor fasteners.
  5. Remove the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 173094 Size: MH
  1. Install the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor (3) in the vehicle. Ensure that the arrow is pointing toward the front of the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the inflatable restraint front end discriminating sensor fasteners.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  5. Connect the pigtail to the pigtail clips.
  6. Connect the electrical connector (1) and the CPA (4).
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
