Was the HVAC System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the connector of the blower speed selector switch.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Does the blower motor stop?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the blower speed selector switch. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to HVAC System Check

Backprobe the connector of the blower motor with a test lamp from terminal 2 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK wire between the following components:

    • The blower motor
    • The blower motor resistor
    • The blower speed selector switch

Is the repair complete?

Go to HVAC System Check

Backprobe the connector of the blower motor resistor with a test lamp from terminal 1 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK/BLU wire between the blower motor resistor and the blower speed selector switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to HVAC System Check

Backprobe the connector of the blower motor resistor with a test lamp from terminal 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 9

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK/GRN wire between the blower speed selector switch and the blower motor resistor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to HVAC System Check

Repair the short to voltage in the PNK/BLK wire between the blower speed selector switch and the blower motor resistor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
