Removal Procedure
- Discharge and recover
the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the bolt and the outlet tube (5) from the receiver-dryer.
- Disconnect the receiver-dryer outlet tube from the evaporator
inlet tube (7) .
- Remove the receiver-dryer outlet tube from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Coat new O-rings with a mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant
oil.
- Install the O-rings to the receiver-dryer outlet tube.
- Position the receiver-dryer
outlet tube behind the radiator core support brace.
- Secure the receiver-dryer outlet tube in the condenser fan retaining
clip.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Connect the receiver-dryer
outlet tube to the evaporator inlet tube (7).
Tighten
Tighten the receiver-dryer outlet to the evaporator inlet pipe fitting
to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the outlet tube (5) to the receiver-dryer. Secure the
outlet tube with the bolt.
- Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer
to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system, and test the system for refrigerant leaks.
Refer to Leak Testing
.
