Removal Procedure
- Remove the center console trim bezel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement
in Instrument Panel,
Gauges, and Console.
- Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
- Grasp firmly the lever knobs of the heater control unit in order
to pull the knobs out.
- Remove the screw that retains the right-side lower cover of the
instrument panel cluster.
- Remove the right-side lower cover of the instrument panel cluster.
- Remove the heater face plate by gently prying.
- Remove the illumination lamp socket of the face plate.
- Disconnect the following
cables at the heater case and at the blower case:
• | The temperature control cable (6). Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement
. |
• | The fresh/recirc control cable (3). Refer to Vent Control Cables Replacement
. |
- Remove the 2 screws from the heater control unit.
- Disconnect the blower switch electrical connector.
- Remove the heater control unit from the instrument panel (IP)
through the radio opening.
- Remove the blower switch from the heater control unit (5).
Installation Procedure
- Install the blower switch
to the heater control unit (5).
- Install the heater control unit to the IP.
- Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Install the heater control unit.
Secure the unit with the 2 screws.
- Connect the following cables:
• | The temperature control cable (6). Refer to Temperature Control Cable Replacement
. |
• | The fresh/recirc control cable (3). Refer to Vent Control Cables Replacement
. |
- Install the illumination lamp socket to the heater face plate.
- Install the lower cover of the instrument panel cluster. Secure
the cover with the 1 screw.
- Install the lever knobs of the heater control unit.
- Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
- Install the center console trim bezel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement
in Instrument Panel,
Gauges, and Console.
- Adjust the temperature control cables, the mode control cables,
and the fresh/recirc control cables. Refer to Temperature Control Cable Adjustment
, toMode Control Cable Adjustment
, and to Vent Control Cable Adjustment
