Removal Procedure
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Remove the bolt and the
inlet fitting from the top of the receiver-dryer (5).
- Remove the bolt and the outlet fitting from the top of the receiver-dryer
(5).
- Remove the screw that retains the receiver-dryer in the bracket.
- Remove the receiver-dryer from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
Important: If you are installing a new receiver-dryer, add 10 ml (0.3 fl oz)
of refrigerant oil to the A/C system.
- Lubricate new O-rings with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
- Install the O-rings to the inlet fittings and to the outlet fittings
of the receiver-dryer.
- Install the receiver-dryer
to the condenser bracket. Secure the receiver-dryer with the screw.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the inlet
fitting to the top of the receiver-dryer (5). Secure the receiver-dryer inlet
fitting with the bolt.
- Install the outlet fitting to the top of the receiver-dryer
(5). Secure receiver-dryer outlet fitting with the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.8 N·m (86.74 lb in).
- Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer
to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system, and test the system for refrigerant leaks.
Refer to Leak Testing
.
