Removal Procedure
Tools Required

Piston Cover Depressor
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the 3 transaxle fluid pan bolts (1) .
- Install the J 35534
. Tighten the adjustment bolt on the J 35534
until you can remove the snap ring from the servo cover (1).
- Remove the servo cover snap ring (11).
- After slowly J 35534
loosening the adjustment bolt, remove the .
- Remove the following components:
- Inspect the intermediate servo assembly.
Installation Procedure

Notice: After making sure all parts are clean, liberally apply J 36850
to all servo parts prior to assembly. This serves to prelubricate
seals and to ensure ease of assembly.
- Install the following components:
- Install J 35534
and tighten the adjustment bolt in order to install the snap ring on the servo cover (1).
- Install the servo cover snap ring.
- Remove the J 35534
.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 3 transaxle fluid pan bolts (1) .
Tighten
Tighten the fluid pan bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Refill the transaxle, as necessary. Refer to
Transmission Fluid Check
.
