The condition of an automatic transaxle not operating properly may be influenced by one or a combination of the following items:

    • The fluid level may be too high or too low. Refer to Fluid Leak Diagnosis and Repair .
    • The engine may be performing poorly. Refer to Engine Controls.
    • The throttle valve (TV) cable may be out of adjustment. Refer to Automatic Transmission Throttle Valve Cable Adjustment .
    • The shift select cable may be out of adjustment. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement .
    • The transaxle may have internal fluid leaks. Refer to the Transmission Unit Repair Manual.
    • There may be a problem with the electrical system. Refer to Engine Electrical.
    • The vehicle may have a problem in the transaxle or in the other mechanical components.
