  1. Disconnect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.
  2. Press the brake pedal.

  3. Object Number: 172050  Size: SH
  4. Loosen the locknut from the of the stoplamp switch (4).
  5. Use the following procedure to adjust the stoplamp switch (4):
  6. 4.1. Pull the brake pedal all the way back and hold.
    4.2. Adjust the switch position so that the switch plunger is pressed by the brake pedal contact plate. Ensure that the threaded portion (2) of the switch (4) is within 1.5-2.0 mm (0.06-0.08 in) from the pedal contact plate.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Press the brake pedal and install the stoplamp switch locknut.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the stoplamp switch locknut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  9. Connect the stoplamp switch electrical connector.
