Removal Procedure
- Remove the coil spring. Refer to
Coil Spring Replacement
.
- Remove the two suspension
arm front mounting bracket bolts (3).
- Remove the suspension arm rear through bolt and nut. Remove the
suspension arm (4) from the vehicle.
- Inspect the suspension arm and the bushings (2) for the
following conditions. Replace defective parts as necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Install the suspension
arm (4) to the vehicle. Secure at the rear with the through bolt and
nut.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the suspension
arm front mounting bracket to the body of the vehicle. Secure the suspension
arm with two mounting bolts (3).
Tighten
• | Tighten the suspension arm rear through bolt and nut to 40 N·m
(29 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the suspension arm front mounting bracket bolts to 45 N·m
(33 lb ft). |
- Install the coil spring. Refer to
