Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Replacement LE5 with MH8

Preliminary Procedure Remove the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement.
1	Front wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Bracket Bolt (Qty: 3) Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section. Tip Use care when removing the intermediate drive shaft from the transmission as not to damage the seal. Tighten 50 N·m (37 lb ft)
2	Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Tip The J 44394-A must be installed into the differential output shaft seal prior to removing and installing the intermediate shaft. Failure to install the J 44394-A may cause splines of the intermediate shaft to cut the differential output seal. Special Tools J 44394-A Seal Protector

Remove the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement.

Front wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Bracket Bolt (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip
Use care when removing the intermediate drive shaft from the transmission as not to damage the seal.

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)

Tip
The J 44394-A must be installed into the differential output shaft seal prior to removing and installing the intermediate shaft. Failure to install the J 44394-A may cause splines of the intermediate shaft to cut the differential output seal.
