This PI was superseded to include 2007 model year vehicles. Please discard PIC4077.


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Programming of new RKE fobs is unsuccessful when using the "Next Available Slot" procedure with Tech 2. The timer will just count down and the message "Procedure failed due to expired time, or the number of key fobs to be programmed exceeds the number of available slots" is displayed.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Program new RKE fobs using the "Invalidate All Fobs" procedure. This will require technician to have all of the customer's fobs on hand to reprogram them all again since previously learned fob are erased when using this procedure.

Note:  A total of 4 fobs can be learned.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
