CHANGE OIL SOON

The driver information center (DIC) illuminates the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message when the powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the engine oil life is 0 percent. The PCM sends a serial data message to the BCM to request the radio to illuminate the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message in the DIC via the GMLAN serial data link. After the oil is changed, reset the engine oil monitor. Refer to in Maintenance and Lubrication.
