DTC Descriptor
DTC U2202: No Communication With Rear Control Panel
Circuit/System Description
With the ignition in either the ACC position or the ON position the rear seat entertainment (RSE) interface module continuously sends a communication signal to the rear seat entertainment (RSE) control panel. Upon receiving the signal, the RSE control
panel sends a reply signal, confirming that it can communicate. DTC U2202 will set to indicate the RSE control panel has not received a communication signal or replied when the RSE interface module has requested operation.
Conditions for Running the DTC
DTC U2202 runs continuously once a valid RSE control panel response occurs.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The RSE interface module does not receive a response from the RSE control panel after 3 consecutive communication attempts.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The rear seat entertainment system fails to operate.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
• | The current DTC will clear when the RSE interface module receives a communication reply from the RSE control panel. |
• | The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles have occurred. |

Circuit/System Testing
- Verify that DTC U2202 is set.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the audio/video interface module and RSE control panel harness connectors.
- Test the RSE interface module and RSE control panel; communication, power and ground circuits for short to ground or an open/high resistance.
⇒ | If the circuits do not test normal, repair or replace the effected circuit(s). |
⇒ | If the circuits test normal, replace the RSE control panel. |
- Using the scan tool, select the DTC display function. If DTC U2202 resets, replace the audio/video interface module.
