Front Ashtray Door Jams, Slow to Open

On some vehicles, the front ashtray compartment door may not open or close as intended.
On any vehicle with the above condition, check for the following potential causes:
| • | Electrical harnesses attached to or near the front ashtray - which interferes with its operation. |
| • | The anti-rattle tape on the instrument panel wiring harness may have become unstuck and tangled in the ashtray door hinge mechanism. |
Whenever reinstalling an ashtray assembly, technicians should ensure that neither of the above potential causes can occur.
