Installation of Fuses Removed for Shipping

Subject:Installation of Fuses Removed for Shipping

Models:2007 Chevrolet Caprice, Lumina (Export)

This bulletin is being published to emphasize the need to correctly install fuses which have been removed during vehicle shipping.

In particular, please stress to personnel responsible for installing fuses that fuses must be installed in the correct location. Mixing of fuses between locations may result in fuse failure (such as if a fuse of low rating is installed to a position requiring a higher current rating fuse, or worse, a fuse with high current rating will not adequately protect a circuit with a fuse with low current rating specified). Correct fuse locations are shown below.

Dealerships are also reminded that until fuses are installed, various electrical functions will not be operational.

For example, door and trunk remote unlocking will not operate until the instrument panel fuse (F7) is installed. Locks must be operated manually via keys (door lock) and glove compartment release switch (trunk) until this fuse is installed.

Ensure that fuses are installed in the correct location. Installation of a fuse of the incorrect rating could result in fuse failure or electrical system damage.
