Subject: | Optimizing Blue Tooth Performance -- Feedback/Echo or Unexplained "Voice In" Messages on Information Display |
Models: | 2007 Chevrolet Caprice and Lumina (Export) |
with "Blue Tooth" Compatibility (SS and Royale Models) |
The following information contains the recommended audio settings to ensure optimum sound quality during Blue Tooth-connected calls.
These audio setting must be selected while on a Blue Tooth call. The audio settings for a Blue Tooth call are set using the normal radio buttons but are stored independently of other radio settings and will have no effect on them.
Base: -6
Treble: STD or 0
Balance: STD or 0
Fade: F6
Set volume setting to a low but comfortable level. Increasing volume levels will increase feedback and echo.
"Voice In" messages can sometimes be displayed when an SMS message is received, when other phone functions are in operation or when the phone is picking up other non-related signals. This is dependent on the type of phone and is a characteristic of the system.
If beeps are heard and "voice in" is displayed when using the phone buttons then the button beep/tone function of the phone is set to "on". This function can be turned off on most phones.
Turning this off will prevent beeps from being heard through the audio system when the phone buttons are used.
Important: This test cannot be performed while a Blue Tooth phone is paired with the vehicle.
To test the functionality and presence of the Blue Tooth module/system, the following test can be performed:
Press the Phone button on the steering wheel remote control four times consecutively with the ignition ON. If the Blue Tooth module is functioning correctly, a series of notes will be played through the audio system.
This tests that the Blue Tooth module is present and functioning and tests the output of the Blue Tooth module through the audio system.
