DISENGAGEMENT OF ROLLER TRACK (REPLACE CENTER ROLLER TRACK)

SUBJECT: PARTIAL DISENGAGEMENT OF CENTRE ROLLER BRACKET FROM CENTRE ROLLER TRACK (INSTALL NEW TRACK)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990-91 U-VAN

Application: Prior to VIN Number:

CHEVROLET MT137847 PONTIAC MT222105 OLDSMOBILE MT314673

Condition:

----------- Partial disengagement of centre roller bracket from centre roller track.

Cause:

------- Excess rearward door travel.

Correction:

----------- Install new centre roller track.

Centre Roller Track Replacement Procedure - P/N 10206846 -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Prepaint centre roller track. 2. Remove upper rear, quarter trim moulding. 3. Remove glass to latch bolts. 4. Remove glass hinge bolts and remove glass. 5. Remove C-pillar, upper seat belt anchor bolt. 6. Remove upper armrest. 7. See Illustration for view of centre track cover attachments and remove cover. 8. Open the sliding side door and mark the location of the centre roller bracket on the door side surface. 9. Use a floor jack to support the door. Pad the lower edge to protect the finish. 10. Remove the rear centre roller bracket to door attaching bolts. 11. Slide the centre roller bracket rearward to disengage. 12. Remove centre roller track. 13. Seal mounting studs with strip caulk and install new centre roller track. 14. Reinstall centre roller bracket. 15. Position the bracket within the previously marked area on the door, install and tighten bolts. 16. Remove the floor jack and carefully close door to inspect for proper alignment. 17. Reinstall centre roller track cover and trim.
