Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Place the reclining seat
back in the forward position.
- Remove the finish trim panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the recliner tilt handle screws.
Remove the retainers (driver's side AM6).
- Remove the recliner lever (3) from the seat.
- Move the seat back cover in order to expose the recliner bolts.
- Remove the upper recliner bolts (1).
- Remove the lower recliner bolts (2).
- Remove the recliner mechanism from the seat.
Installation Procedure
- Install the recliner mechanism
to the seat.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the lower
recliner bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the lower recliner bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the upper recliner bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the upper recliner bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Position the seat back cover over the recliner bolts.
- Install the recliner lever (3) to the seat.
- Install the recliner tilt handle screws.
Tighten
Tighten the recliner tilt handle screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the retainers (driver's side AM6).
- Install the finish panel. Refer to
Front Seat Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Place the reclining seat back in the forward position.
- Install the front seat. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
