Action

Stuck/inoperative control valve

  1. Clean the control valve.
  2. Inspect the control valve.
  3. Replace the control valve, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Flow Control Valve Replacement - Off Vehicle .

Worn pump ring

  1. Inspect the pump ring.
  2. Replace the pump ring, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Scored pressure plate

  1. Inspect the pressure plate.
  2. Replace the pressure plate, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Scored thrust plate

  1. Inspect the thrust plate.
  2. Replace the thrust plate, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Scored rotor

  1. Inspect the rotor.
  2. Replace the rotor, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Broken pressure plate

  1. Clean the pressure plate.
  2. Inspect the pressure plate.
  3. Replace the pressure plate, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Broken thrust plate

  1. Clean the thrust plate.
  2. Inspect the thrust plate.
  3. Replace the thrust plate, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

Vanes sticking in the rotor slots

  1. Clean the vanes.
  2. Inspect the vanes.
  3. Replace the vanes, if necessary. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
