Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 292030 Size: SH

Important: If you will reuse the rear end spoiler, use a double coated foam adhesive tape.

  1. Warm the body panel with a heat lamp or a heat gun to a minimum of 21°C (70°F).
  2. Peel the backing from the front end of the rear end spoiler. Do not touch the adhesive backing.
  3. Insert the rear end spoiler studs into the holes. Center the rear end spoiler onto the rear compartment lid.
  4. Press the rear end spoiler to the rear compartment lid. Install the spoiler from center to the outboard.
  5. Hand roll the rear end spoiler to the rear compartment lid in order to ensure proper adhesion.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Important: The rear end spoiler may become warped if the nuts are over tightened.

  6. Install the nuts to the rear end spoiler.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the rear end spoiler nuts to 9 N·m (79 lb in).

  8. Close the rear compartment.
