Removal Procedure
- Use a heat gun to heat the roof joint molding.
- Use a flat bladed tool to remove the roof molding, begin at one end and carefully peel the molding away from the weld joint.
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
| • | Position the heat gun 152 mm (6 in) from the surface. |
| • | Apply heat using a circular motion for 30 seconds. |
Installation Procedure
- Clean the roof weld joint molding surface area.
- Remove five or six inches of the protective liner at the front edge of the molding.
- Align and center the front edge of the molding with the front edge of the weld joint.
- Use hand pressure to press the molding into place.
- Continue to peel back the liner to center the molding and press into the joint.
Use varnish makers and painters (VM&P) naptha or isopropyl alcohol.
