Improper frame insulator installations may result in the following problems:

    • Popping noise
    • Structure shake
    • Road noise
    • Squeaks
    • Snapping noise

The problems listed above may sometimes be caused by the installation of a wrong part or an improperly tightened insulator. Squeaks may be caused by an improperly located insulator rubbing on the frame rail.

If a problem is diagnosed as an insulator problem, perform either of the following procedures:

    • A color code check of the insulators
    • A body bolt torque check

Use either procedure to determine the correct usage of the insulator. If the wrong insulator is used, replace the insulator with the correct part.
