Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 164738  Size: SH
  1. Remove the glass run channel in area of weatherstrip retainer.
  2. Remove the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement
  3. Loosen and rotate the fixed window.
  4. Remove the screws from the rear door window weatherstrip retainer.
  5. Pull the rear door window weatherstrip retainer from the door using a small flat-bladed tool to release the clips while pulling.
  6. Remove the rear door window weatherstrip retainer from the rear door.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Inspect the plastic clip retainers for damage prior to reinstallation of the window weatherstrip retainer.

    Replace any damaged plastic clip retainers.

  1. Align the rear door window weatherstrip retainer to the rear door and drive screw.
  2. Install the rear door window weatherstrip retainer.
  3. Pressing down until the plastic clip retainers are fully seated.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Position the screws to the rear door window weatherstrip retainer.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the rear door window weatherstrip retainer screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Rotate and tighten the fixed window.
  7. Install the glass run channel in area of weatherstrip retainer.
  8. Install the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement
