The hinges are bolted to the door and to the body. The door side hinges have elongated holes. This allows for some adjustment in the following directions:

    • Up and down
    • In and out
    • Fore and aft

If a single door hinge on any door at any location requires replacement, replace the second or remaining hinge.

Do not remove both door hinges at the same time in order to minimize door realignment. Remove each hinge separately. Replace any broken hinges first.

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  3. Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the hinge to the door and to the body.
  4. Support the door.

  6. Remove the hinge to the body bolts.
  7. Remove the hinge to the door bolts.
  8. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 295133  Size: SH
  1. Install the door hinge to the vehicle.
  2. Install the hinge to the body bolts.
  3. Finger tighten the body bolts.
  4. Install the hinge to the door bolts.
  5. Finger tighten the door bolts.
  6. Align the hinge to the door and to the body within the grease pencil marks.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Tighten the door hinge to the body bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the door hinge to body bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  10. Tighten the door hinge to the door bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the door hinge to door bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  12. Clean off any excess grease pencil marks.
  13. Install the rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  14. Adjust the door if necessary. Refer to Rear Door Adjustment
