Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the instrument cluster screws.
  3. Rotate the top of the instrument cluster rearward and carefully lift the bottom of the instrument cluster in order to disengage the locating pins from the IP. Slide the instrument cluster from the IP.
  4. Rotate the instrument cluster lamp counterclockwise in order to remove the lamp from the cluster.

Installation Procedure

  1. Refer to Bulb Usage in Lighting Systems. Position the instrument cluster lamp to the opening in the instrument cluster. Turn the instrument cluster lamp clockwise in order to secure the lamp to the instrument cluster.
  2. Rotate the top of the instrument cluster rearward slightly. Install the instrument cluster to the instrument panel (IP) opening. Install the instrument cluster locating pins into the retainers and then rotate the top of the instrument cluster forward.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the instrument cluster screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the instrument cluster screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement .
