Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut on the wiper arm.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 23 N·m (17 lb ft)
- Install the cover on the nut.
- Lift the wiper arm up onto the park ramp.
Important: Lubricate the hose with windshield washer solvent to ease installation
onto the nozzle.

Inspection Procedure
• | Inspect the park position. Both wiper arms must be snug against
the park ramps. |
• | Inspect the wipe pattern. The dimension should be 55-132 mm
(2.17-5.20 in) from the tip of the driver's side wiper blade
to the edge of the glass in the outerwipe position. |
• | The correct park position and outerwipe dimension are determined
with the wipers operating at low speed on wet glass. |
