  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  3. Use a test light in order to connect between B+ and the headlamp switch harness connector terminal B.

Is the vehicle equipped with Keyless Entry (RPO AU0)?

  1. Disconnect the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) electrical connector.
  2. Close all vehicle doors.
  3. Use a test light in order to connect between B+ and the headlamp switch harness connector terminal C.

Did the test light illuminate?

  1. Close all vehicle doors.
  2. Use a test light in order to connect between B+ and the headlamp harness connector terminal C.

Did the test light illuminate?

  1. Reconnect the headlamp switch electrical connector.
  2. Turn off the Instrument Panel (IP) dimmer switch.
  3. Close all vehicle doors.
  4. Leave the RCDLR disconnected.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Are the courtesy lights on?

Repair short to ground in CKT 156.

Is the repair complete?

Repair short to B+ in CKT 39.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect each door lock for a closed switch with the door closed.
  2. Repair short to ground in CKT 49 if all door locks are OK.

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the RCDLR. Refer to Receiver Replacement in Keyless Entry.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect any of the connectors or components that were removed.
