Perform the following spotlamp adjustment procedure to reset the stowed and operating positions to the design intent locations.
Important: The outer tube and bushing must be aligned properly to the mounting bracket to ensure proper spotlamp positioning and operation.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the spotlamp outer tube bushing to spotlamp mounting bracket
set-screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
Perform the following spotlamp adjustment procedure to correct excessive effort or inability to maintain position when rotating the spotlamp between the stowed and operating positions.
(The spotlamp must be able to maintain the desired stowed or operating position, while the amount of effort required to rotate the lamp between positions should only be moderate.)
