Inspect fuse 19 in the fuse block.

  1. Remove the rear compartment lamp bulb from the socket.
  2. Use a test light in order to probe between the rear compartment lamp bulb terminal A and the ground.

Did the test light illuminate?

Use a test light in order to probe between the rear compartment lamp bulb socket terminals B and terminal A.

Did the test light illuminate?

Use a test light in order to backprobe between B+ and the rear compartment lid ajar switch terminal B.

Did the test light illuminate?

  1. Reconnect the rear compartment lamp bulb into the socket.
  2. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the rear compartment lid ajar switch terminals A and B.

Did the rear compartment light illuminate?

  1. Replace fuse 19.
  2. Inspect fuse 19 again.

Is fuse 19 open again?

    • The socket
  3. Repair as needed.

  1. Inspect the rear compartment lid ajar switch for proper operation.
  2. Repair or replace as needed.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect any connectors that you previously disconnected.
  3. Install any components that you previously removed.
