  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Observe the instrument cluster gauges and indicators.

Inspect fuse 39 in the fuse block.

Is fuse 39 open?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Replace fuse 39.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  4. Inspect fuse 39 again.

Is fuse 39 open again?

--

Go to Step 6

Inspect the power feed to fuse 39 for the following conditions:

    • A poor connection
    • An open

Refer to Fuse Block Details for Schematic.

Is the symptom still present?

--

Go to Step 9

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) connector.
  3. Use a test lamp in order to probe between the RCDLR harness connector terminal J and ground.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position, while observing the test light.

Did the test lamp light?

Repair a short to ground in CKT 39.

Is the symptom still present?

Go to Step 9

  1. Inspect the RCDLR connector for poor terminal contact.
  2. Replace the RCDLR if the connector is OK. Refer to Keyless Entry for RCDLR replacement procedures.

Is the symptom still present?

--

Go to Step 9

Inspect for the following conditions in CKT 39:

    • A poor connection
    • An open

If conditions do not exist, then refer to Interior Lights.

  1. Ensure that the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect any connectors that you previously disconnected.
  3. Install any components that you previously removed.
