Makes šŸ¢’ Chevrolet šŸ¢’ 2009 šŸ¢’ Kodiak C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 šŸ¢’ Brakes šŸ¢’ Air Brakes šŸ¢’ Air Brake Double Check Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Block the wheels.
  2. Drain all of the air reservoirs. Refer to Air Brake Reservoir Draining.
  3. Remove the air lines from the double check valve. Refer to Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting.

    4. Object Number: 1488288 Size: SH
  4. Remove the double check valve from the dual application valve.
  5. Inspect the air lines for the following conditions:
    6. ā€¢ Damage
    ā€¢ Kinked
    ā€¢ Worn
  6. Repair or replace any damaged, kinked, or worn air lines.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1488288 Size: SH
  1. Install the double check valve to the dual application valve.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the double check valve to 25 NĀ·m (19 lb ft).

  2. Install the air lines to the double check valve. Refer to Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting.
  3. Perform the air leakage test. Refer to Air Brake Double Check Valve Operational Check.
  4. Perform the operational test. Refer to Air Brake Double Check Valve Leakage Test.
  5. Remove the wheel blocks.
