Removal Procedure
  1. Block the wheels.
  2. Release the parking brake.

    3. Object Number: 199939 Size: SH
  3. Remove the jam nut on the actuator end of the cable at the 2-piece fitting.
  4. Remove the end fitting.
  5. Remove the cotter pin.
  6. Remove the cable clevis pin.

    7. Object Number: 199944 Size: SH
  7. Remove the fastener from the transmission bracket clip.
  8. Remove the fastener from the transmission housing bracket.

    9. Object Number: 221373 Size: SH
  9. Remove the fastener from the frame bracket.
  10. Remove the strap.
  11. Remove the cable assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 221373 Size: SH
  1. Install the new cable assembly.
  2. Install the strap.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 199944 Size: SH
  3. Install the fastener to the frame bracket.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener bracket to 50 N路m (37 lb ft).

  4. Install the fastener to the transmission housing bracket.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener bracket to 35 N路m (26 lb ft).

    Caution: Make sure that the clip has the bolt hole facing forward. If the clip is out of position, it may cause a binding condition in the parking brake released position.

  5. Install the fastener from the transmission bracket clip.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener 64 N路m (47 lb ft).

  6. Install the small and the large ends of the two-piece cable fitting at the actuator.
  7. Ensure that the small fitting bottoms at both the actuator and the large half of the two-piece fitting.

    8. Tighten
    Torque the two pieces of the fitting together to 54 N路m (40 lb ft).

  8. Install the jam nut to the 2-piece fitting.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the jam nut to 45 N路m (33 lb ft).

  9. Adjust the park brake lever. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment.
  10. Remove the wheel blocks.
