with 3.5L V6 Engine (Non E85 Fuel, VIN Code N -- RPO LZ4 or E85 Fuel Capable, VIN Code K - RPO LZE)



Condition

Some customers may comment that the MIL is illuminated with no other driveability symptoms. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC P0016 (Crankshaft Position (CKP) Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation) set.

Cause

Engineering has identified a concern with the ECM software.

Correction

Reprogram the ECM with the latest calibrations if the above concern is encountered. An updated ECM calibration is now available to address this concern. This calibration, or any that follow, is designed to address this concern. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) using the appropriate Service Information (SI) procedures. The new ECM calibrations will be available to dealerships as part of TIS2000 incremental satellite update version 9.0 which will be broadcast to dealers on 09/06/2005. For the dealerships that use CDs, they will be mailed on 09/14/2005. As always, make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.

To determine which calibration is correct for the 2006 Chevrolet Impala, refer to the list below and reprogram the ECM with the corresponding new calibration .
