Instrument Panel Air Outlet Vent Replacement Monte Carlo Left

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 658483 Size: SH
  2. Use a small flat-bladed tool and pry the upper and lower retainers of the left IP air outlet vent.

    3. Object Number: 658492 Size: SH
  3. Lift out the left air outlet vent from the IP cluster trim plate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 658492 Size: SH
  1. Position the air outlet vent to the upper retainer tabs on the left IP cluster trim plate.
  2. Position the air outlet vent to the lower retainer tabs on the left IP cluster trim plate.

    3. Object Number: 658486 Size: SH
  3. Install the air outlet vent to the left IP cluster trim plate by pressing into place until the retainers are fully seated.
  4. Inspect the air outlet vent for proper operation.
  5. Install the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .

Instrument Panel Air Outlet Vent Replacement Monte Carlo Center

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 658444 Size: SH
  2. Grind the material from the heat stakes at the base of the center air outlet deflector.
  3. Remove the center air outlet deflector from the instrument panel cluster trim plate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 658444 Size: SH
  1. Position the center air outlet deflector to the remaining unused heat stakes.

    2. Important: If no unused heat stakes are available, apply Loctite® Black Max P/N 38050, or equivalent and Perma Bond® accelerator P/N QFF16, or equivalent to the existing heat stakes.

  2. Melt the new heat stakes tabs using an soldering iron with a wide tip.
  3. Inspect the center air outlet deflector for proper operation.
  4. Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .

Instrument Panel Air Outlet Vent Replacement MonteCarlo Right

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the right instrument panel (IP) trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .

    2. Object Number: 658474 Size: SH
  2. Use a small flat-bladed tool and pry the upper and lower retainers of the right IP air outlet vent.

    3. Object Number: 658476 Size: SH
  3. Lift out the air outlet vent from the right IP trim plate.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 658476 Size: SH
  1. Position the air outlet vent to the upper retainer tabs on the right IP trim plate.

    2. Object Number: 658463 Size: SH
  2. Position the air outlet vent to the lower retainer tabs on the right IP trim plate.

    3. Object Number: 658464 Size: SH
  3. Install the air outlet vent to the right IP trim plate by pressing into place until the retainers are fully seated.
  4. Inspect the air outlet vent for proper operation.
  5. Install the right IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
