Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System

1. Insert a CD magazine with at least 1 audio CD into the remote CD changer.
2. Turn ON the radio.

Play the CD in the remote CD changer.

3. Adjust the balance control to the full left setting and then the full right setting.

Can sound be heard from both channels of the remote CD changer?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Test the appropriate (left or right) speaker output for an open, short or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the Radio. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the remote CD changer. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Replace the remote CD changer. Refer to Remote CD Changer Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 7

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
