Removal Procedure

    Caution: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the air inlet duct from the throttle body.
  5. Remove the right and left engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side .
  6. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  8. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  10. Remove the right engine splash shield.
  11. Remove the power steering oil cooler pipe brackets from the frame.

  12. Object Number: 277915  Size: SH
  13. Remove the A/C compressor and the A/C compressor bracket. DO NOT discharge the A/C system. Secure the compressor.

  14. Object Number: 372626  Size: SH
  15. Remove the right exhaust manifold pipe stud nuts from the catalytic converter.

  16. Object Number: 50411  Size: SH
  17. Remove the engine mount lower nuts from the frame.
  18. Lower the vehicle.
  19. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .
  20. Use the engine support fixture to raise the engine .
  21. Raise the vehicle.

  23. Remove the left engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.

  24. Object Number: 97804  Size: SH
  25. Remove the right engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.
  26. Support the frame with jackstands.
  27. Loosen the left side frame bolts. Remove the right side frame bolts. Using the jackstands lower the frame for engine mount bracket removal.
  28. Remove the engine mount bracket with the engine mount from the engine.

  30. Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
  31. Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 43405  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount upper nuts to the engine mount and the engine mount bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount upper nuts to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the engine.

  7. Loosely install the right engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.

  8. Object Number: 97800  Size: SH
  9. Loosely install the left engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the left and the right engine mount bracket bolts to 102 N·m (75 lb ft).

  11. Using the jackstands raise the frame to the original position.
  12. Install the right side frame bolts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the right and the left side frame bolts to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).

  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Use the engine support fixture to lower the engine.
  16. Raise the vehicle.

  18. Install the engine mount lower nuts to the frame.
  19. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount lower nuts to 78 N·m (58 lb ft).

  20. Install the catalytic converter to the right exhaust manifold.
  21. Install the right exhaust manifold pipe stud nuts
  22. Tighten
    Tighten the right exhaust manifold pipe stud nuts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  23. Install the A/C compressor bracket and the A/C compressor bracket bolts.
  24. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C compressor bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  25. Install the A/C compressor and the A/C compressor nuts.
  26. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C compressor nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  27. Install the power steering oil cooler pipe brackets to the frame.

  29. Install the right engine splash shield.
  30. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  31. Lower the vehicle.
  32. Remove the engine support fixture.
  33. Install the right and left engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side .
  34. Install the air inlet duct to the throttle body .
  35. Connect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
  36. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  37. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  38. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
