Headliner Sags At Sunroof Opening (Reattach Velcro Strips)

Subject:Headliner Sags At Sunroof Opening (Reattach Velcro® Strips)

Models:2000-2001 Chevrolet Impala

Condition

Some customers may comment that the headliner sags at the front of the sunroof opening.

Cause

The Velcro® strips may have come loose from the sunroof module and/or the headliner.

Correction

Replace the Velcro® strips that may have pulled loose from the sunroof module and/or the headliner. Clean the surface of the sunroof module using one of the cleaners listed below. Make sure the two halves of the Velcro® strips are properly aligned with each other before reattaching them. Apply adhesion promoter, P/N 12378462 (in Canada, use 10953554), to the sunroof module to improve the 3M® Dual Lock™ strip retention. If the Velcro® strips have come loose from the headliner, use hot melt glue to reattach them.
