Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the lower front screw securing the rear edge of the front wheelhouse liner to the fender flange.
3. Remove the lower rear screw securing the front edge of the rear wheelhouse liner to the fender flange.

Assist Step Locating Pin

Front and Rear Wheelhouse Liner Screws (Qty: 2)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in) after the assist step has been installed.

Assist Step Retainers (Qty: 5)

Procedure

Position the assist step on top of the assist step assembly brackets and secure the retainers to the lower body.

Assist Step Bolts (Qty: 6)

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in)
