Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Position the steering column in the full downward position.

    3. Object Number: 1547256 Size: SH
  3. Unsnap and remove the upper steering column cover.

    4. Object Number: 1547258 Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower steering column cover screws.
  5. Remove the lower steering column trim cover.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1547258 Size: SH
  1. Install the lower steering column cover.

    2. Important: Tighten the lower steering column screws in the mandatory torque sequence as shown.

  2. Install the lower steering column cover screws.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the lower steering column cover screws to 2 N·m (17 lb in).

  3. Install the upper steering column trim cover by guiding the soft closeout under the I/P Trim Panel.
  4. Push on the upper steering column cover until it snaps into place and is secure.
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
