Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Cracked Window Caution in the Preface section.
Important: Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape
around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.
- Remove the rear door trim panels in order to gain access the rear window.

Caution: Refer to Defroster Outlet Caution in the Preface section.
- Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass:
• | The defroster outlets and A/C outlets |
• | The seats and carpeting. |
Important: Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window. This will allow the
urethane adhesive to be separated from the window.
• | Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange. |
• | The only suitable lubrication is clear water. |
- With the aid of an assistant, use the suction cups to lift the
rear window from the opening.
- Remove the stationary window.
Installation Procedure
- Install a stationary window into the opening. Refer to
Adhesive Installation of Stationary Windows
.
- Install the rear door trim panels which were removed in order to gain
access to the rear window removal. Refer to
Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
and
Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side
in Body Rear End.
- Remove the double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted
surfaces and the interior trim.
