Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 404471  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector and ground strap from the fluid flow alarm switch.
  2. Notice: Do not force a thick blade wrench on the flow switch or damage will result. Use a thin blade open-end wrench.

  3. Remove the hose clamps from the fluid flow alarm switch.
  4. Remove the fluid flow alarm switch from the vehicle.
  5. Disassemble the fluid flow alarm switch from the fittings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install a new gasket between the switch and the fittings.
  2. Install the switch to the fittings.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the fluid flow alarm switch to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  4. Install the fluid flow alarm switch to the vehicle.
  5. Notice: Do not force a thick blade wrench on the flow switch or damage will result. Use a thin blade open-end wrench.

  6. Install the hose clamps to the fluid flow alarm switch.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the clamps to the fluid flow alarm switch to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  8. Connect the electrical connector and ground strap to the fluid flow alarm switch.
