Does the right power outside rearview mirror operate?

  1. Disconnect the left power outside rearview mirror connector.
  2. Disconnect the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch connector.
  3. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter between the left power outside rearview mirror connector, cavity E, and the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch connector, cavity H, for CKT 1499 (LT GRN).

Is continuity present?

  1. Disconnect the right power outside rearview mirror connector.
  2. Disconnect the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch connector.
  3. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter between the right power outside rearview mirror connector, cavity E, and the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch connector, cavity C, for CKT 1497 (LT BLU/WHT).

Is continuity present?

Replace the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch.

Refer to Power Mirror Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1499 (LT GRN) between the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch and splice S502.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 1497 (LT BLU/WHT) between the power outside rearview mirror remote control switch and splice S604.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
