  1. Disconnect the left front power side window switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the left front power window regulator motor connector.
  3. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter between the left front power side window switch connector, cavity E, and the left front power window regulator motor connector, cavity A for CKT 164 (DK BLU).

Is continuity present?

Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter between the left front power side window switch connector, cavity A, and the left front power window regulator motor connector, cavity B for CKT 165 (BRN).

Is continuity present?

Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter between pin E, and pin G of the left front power side window switch.

Is continuity present?

--

Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter between pin A, and pin G of the left front power side window switch.

Is continuity present?

  1. Connect an J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp between the left front power side window switch connector, cavity H, and ground.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.

Does the test lamp light?

--

  1. Reconnect the left front power side window switch connector.
  2. Backprobe with an J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp between the left front power window regulator motor connector, cavity A for CKT 164 (DK BLU), and ground.
  3. Refer to Probing Electrical Connectors in Wiring Systems.

  4. Depress the UP pushbutton for the left front power window regulator motor on the left front power side window switch.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Backprobe with an J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp between the left front power window regulator motor connector, cavity B for CKT 165 (BRN), and ground.
  2. Refer to Probing Electrical Connectors in Wiring Systems.

  3. Depress the DOWN pushbutton for the left front power window regulator motor at the left front power side window switch.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 164 (DK BLU) between the left front power side window switch and the left front power window regulator motor.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 165 (BRN) between the left front power side window switch and the left front power window regulator motor.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the left front power side window switch.

Repair the open in CKT 343 (YEL) between splice S229 and the left front power side window switch.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Ensure that the mechanical assembly for the window drive is not binding the operation of the regulator motor.
  2. If mechanical assembly is operating correctly, replace the left front power side window regulator motor.

Refer to Power Window Motor Replacement .
