    • Check the engine coolant level.
    • Turn the ignition switch to RUN.

Does the low engine coolant indicator lamp come on for bulb check or with a low engine coolant level?

  1. Disconnect the low engine coolant level indicator module.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  3. Connect a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp between low engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity A for CKT 39 (PNK) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp light?

Connect a J 39200 DMM between low engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity C for CKT 150 (BLK) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

Connect a J 36169-A fused jumper wire between low engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity E for CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the low coolant indicator lamp light?

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between instrument cluster connector cavity A5 and low engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity E for CKT 68 (YEL/BLK). Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

  1. Verify that the radiator is full.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between low engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity F for CKT 1478 (LT GRN) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

12 Kohms

  1. Disconnect the low engine coolant level indicator sensor.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between low engine coolant level indicator sensor connector cavity A for CKT 1478 (LT GRN) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

Repair the open in CKT 39 (PNK) between splice S216 and the low engine coolant level indicator module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the low engine coolant level indicator module and ground G201. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) between the instrument cluster and the low engine coolant level indicator module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the short to ground in CKT 1478 (LT GRN) between the low engine coolant level indicator module and the low engine coolant level indicator sensor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
